Established over 50 years ago since 1971, we are a well respected family firm, operating from our office based in Felixstowe but serving businesses throughout the UK and beyond, regardless of the port of arrival.
Our story
We have been operating for over five decades.
Way back in 1967 Ian and Judith Buckle founded Western Bridge Shipping Ltd., London. Rapid growth and success soon required more staff at which point former work colleague John Cusworth joined the team. In 1971, in order to fulfil a new large business opportunity at Ipswich port Ian and John formed a new separate subsidiary company as we know it now, Western Bridge (Shipping) Limited.
With retirement looming for Ian and John and after enjoying many happy years of working together their legacy Western Bridge Shipping Ltd., and Western Bridge (Shipping) Limited., has been continued by their sons Tom Buckle and Andrew Cusworth and team of staff. In 2017 we decided to join the two companies together and operate from our single office Buckworth House, Felixstowe.
Having been accredited with the successful growth and forward investment, Tom Maddison was invited to join the board of directors.
